Bonaventure is committed to sustainable development initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help our residents save on energy costs. Bonaventure’s Sustainable Energy Initiative reflects our commitment to Virginia’s Clean Economy Act of 2020 and HUD’s green loan program. We are dedicated to using solar and renewable energy for new developments to do our part to protect the environment for our communities, both today and for future generations.
ENERGY STAR® CERTIFIED
Many of our communities have earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® certification for superior energy performance, reflecting a legacy of continued energy savings. ENERGY STAR certified buildings are verified to perform in the top 25 percent of buildings nationwide. ENERGY STAR is the only energy efficiency certification in the United States that is based on actual, verified energy performance. On average, ENERGY STAR certified buildings and plants use 35 percent less energy, cause 35 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions, and are less expensive for our residents—all without sacrifices in performance or comfort. Saving energy is just one of the ways we show our community we care.
